On April 21, Jennie of BLACKPINK delivered her second performance at the Outdoor Theatre stage during Coachella 2025. Unlike her set in the festival’s first weekend, Jennie’s return as a solo artist was met with widespread praise. After facing criticism for her live vocals and choreography during her initial appearance, she was lauded in week two for her electrifying stage presence that left tens of thousands of fans cheering.
However, despite the overall success of her performance, Jennie experienced a wardrobe mishap that startled many fans. While descending the stairs during her performance of Start A War, her heel got caught in her flowing outfit. The moment was tense, as a misstep could have resulted in a dangerous fall from the stairs to the stage. The incident was even covered by international outlet Koreaboo, which titled their piece: “Jennie’s Unexpected Wardrobe Malfunction Nearly Causes Disaster at Coachella.”
Fortunately, Jennie handled the situation with calm professionalism. She quickly sat down, adjusted her shoe, freed the fabric, and resumed performing without missing a beat. Her graceful response drew praise across social media. The incident also reignited discussions about wardrobe risks and safety concerns for artists on large-scale stages.
In a separate Coachella incident, a cameraman filming Lisa’s performance of Thunder slipped and fell down the stairs. Thankfully, he wasn’t seriously hurt and managed to continue his work backstage.
